It’s been forever (over a year!) since I posted an outfit on this blog… but better late than never. I’ve shot some looks recently and will continue to do this on a regular basis. I’m not really into just sharing outfits so I’ll always add some fashion tips or a short personal story. In this case it’s a story about my emotional baggage…
“Bag lady you gone hurt your back. Dragging all them bags like that. I guess nobody ever told you. All you must hold onto, is you, is you, is you”. These lyrics have been going on and on (Hi Erykah) in my head this whole day. I’m quite the bag lady. And when I saw this bag a while ago I just had to have it. The emotional baggage reminded me of… well, me.
We all go through things in life. I’ve always been a person who finds it hard to just accept things as they are and let things go. I can drag my emotional baggage around for weeks, months and years. Some things I held onto for decades. The thing is, your life will be history repeating unless you learn to deal with your emotional baggage and let go of what keeps you from living in a way that sparks more happy moments.
I’m currently working on my own emotional baggage and trying to get to the point where I can pack light. I’m tired of dragging around things that make me live my life in a way that no longer works for me. Habits die hard, but you can’t wait for your next lifetime. So I’ll call Tyrone and let him help me to pick up my old emotional baggage.
By the way… some emotional baggage is pretty cool to put on. I’ve combined my bag with a skirt and denim trench from MS Mode. I got the skirt in a size 16 (I usually wear an 18) because it’s so stretchy and I wanted it to be fitted in my waist. The coat is a size 18 an fits me perfectly. How would you wear your emotional baggage?
Keep shining loves!
