‘Healthy bodies equal self-love no matter the size’
It’s here: the newest ‘Thursday Thunder’. My way of applauding women I find inspiring. Sharing ‘Thunder’ comes down to sharing thoughts on body positivity, confidence, self-love and anything related. This week Wilnise shares hers. She’s a pediatric nurse from Florida who has a passion for wellness and beautification of the feminine form. Every time I see her pictures on Instagram I smile back. Her energy is beautiful. And her words are too…
“I take extreme pride in knowing all that encompasses all that I am is truly unique to me. As a curvy woman or what some might identify as plus size, I think body identification and confidence was something I had no choice but to build very young. Being the tallest and widest of my peers throughout my life has shaped my perspective in seeing things a little grander, faster. During the stages of growing into your body and acknowledging who you are, I went through many trials of wishing and hoping some parts where smaller or ‘If I could just fit into these perfect jeans or maybe if I were just a little shorter’.”

‘The volume of roundness of my parts spoke volumes into me and for once I saw beautiful’
“The stigma of being out of the “norm” in both height and weight was something that was a personal fight. That felt like centuries to come out of. It literally all ended the instant I looked into the mirror and I mean really look in the mirror, bare and unedited with all the flab, cellulite, pug and awkward long legs starring back at me. I took that time and spoke all of what I loved the very most about Wilnise. The beautiful curve of my hip, the floppiness of my soft skin over my midsection. The volume of roundness of my parts spoke volumes into me and for once I saw beautiful. I saw the very unique and precise beauty of love.”
‘When you really start to love every morsel of yourself you begin to heal’
“The very minute I identified what self-love was, was the very minute I identified what a healthy vivacious and beautiful body was. When you really start to love every morsel of yourself you begin to heal and only demand a healthy environment for your space both mentally and physically. You begin to take special care of all your parts preserving the love and light that helped round out our perfect edges. Healthy bodies equal self love no matter the size. As a whole I think we’re coming to place of identifying that part of our world. We are expansive and ready to express that and it’s such a beautiful time.”
‘Take the time to preserve all that you love about you’
“When those days come when you just don’t feel it or it becomes cloudy, because they do creep up, believe me (even for the most confident). A personal day of full pampering is an absolute must. Whether it be a long warm bath or a extra few minutes applying a perfect lip or even a full face. Take the time to preserve all that you love about you. Take quiet time within yourself and remind yourself how compellingly powerful it is to love you and go for all that is that makes you, you. Make it your personal habit. That creates the biggest acknowledgement of gratitude/love and all of it will always come back tenfold.”
