‘An art photography book about beauty of women of all shapes and sizes. This is a book about confidence.’ That’s everything I needed to read to decide I want to back up this project on Kickstarter. And I’ve just made my donation. The work of Victoria Janashvili is stunning! And I would love to see this in book form. If it was up to me I would be in the book too!

A book with a range of models in different shapes and sizes adds to body confidence and body positivity in so many ways. The pictures Victoria took during the years on projects about curves and body images are well known. Some of them I will never forget. Like the ones she made for Plus Model Magazine and the article about the bodies of plus size models. Those images say so much about the gap between what most women see when they look into a mirror and what they see when they look into a magazine.

On Kickstarter Victoria writes: ‘This is why I spent years of my time taking pictures of a different type of models and made numerous “body image awareness” campaigns that went viral, caused lots of discussion and broke a few stereotypes… but most importantly made a lot of women feel better about their awesome curves. This book is a continuation of these projects and a collection of my existing work and new projects. All the images in that book are aimed to demonstrate beauty of very different types of women – short and tall, skinny and curvy, black and white – all sharing confidence and comfort in their body.’ Need I say more? Check out the Kickstarter campaign and let’s make this book happen!
On the website of Victoria Janashvili you can see more of her amazing work.
